My area of artistic practice is painting, underpinned by close observational drawing.
The history and associations inherent in ordinary objects and materials are an important element in my work, with everyday items from the domestic environment being a particular source of inspiration. I am interested in the arrangement, combination and repetition of such familiar items within my contemporary still life paintings.
In a recent return to landscape painting I am inspired by the weather and light of the British countryside
